NSW: Reports of strange noises investigated by police
Police have been inundated with reports of strange noises and suspicious activity overnightacross metropolitan and rural areas.
Investigators from a number of local area commands have been trying to identify a manwho was been sighted on the roofs of houses with chimneys.
Police say described the suspect is of average height and heavy build with white hairand a full beard.
Nothing appears to have been taken from any of the properties except carrots, Christmascake and lemonade.
The suspect is reportedly carrying a large sack and driving a large sleigh with a numberof reindeers.
When last seen he was wearing red trousers, jacket and hat, each trimmed with whitefur and a pair of black shiny boots.
The NSW police media unit says he was last seen travelling north.
